Person-Centered and Dignified Language (Harbor Regional Center)

Person-Centered and Dignified Language is a workshop for service providers to learn about how the current language landscape has an effect on their HCBS documentation. Topics covered included the use of plain language, person-first language vs. identity-first language, helpful behavior-specific language, implicit bias and stigma, the difference between deficit language and institutional language, and real-life applications.

Note: this workshop is open to service providers in the Harbor Regional Center catchment area only. For more information, email Brian Carrillo at brian.carrillo@harborrc.org.
